Summary
- USAA states in plain text that Classic Checking adds overdraft coverage while Youth Spending adds parental controls and account alerts.
- USAA's fee schedule PDF names exact dollar figures for stop payments, wires, and overdrafts, reached in two clicks from the savings page.
- An AI agent found the routing number, 314074269, written as one plain sentence on a dedicated page linked from the checking footer.
- Publishing the savings rate as static text next to the existing tier table would let an AI agent read the yield directly.
USAA also appears in the Credit Cards study, where it scores 44 and ranks 23 of 25.

Task by task
Each task is scored out of 100 on completion, answer quality and how directly the answer was reached. Each note describes what the page delivered, with a link to the page the answer was found on.
Task 01Savings rateArrives after scripts25 out of 100
The savings page builds a complete rate table with every balance tier and relationship level labeled, yet each APY cell shows a placeholder symbol waiting for a script to fill in the actual number.
Task 02Checking comparisonServed as text82 out of 100
USAA runs one adult checking line and one youth line, and both state plainly that a $25 deposit opens the account, while overdraft rules and bonus terms differ between the two.
Task 03Fee scheduleServed as PDF87 out of 100
The savings page links to a public PDF disclosure document that lists named dollar figures for stop payments, wires, expedited mail, and overdraft fees, all readable without a login or a script.
Task 04Routing numberServed as text93 out of 100
A footer link on the checking and savings pages leads to a dedicated page that states the routing number in one plain sentence, with no script, PDF, or login required to read it.
Task 05Application pageArrives after scripts16 out of 100
The Apply Now page an AI agent reaches from the checking page serves mostly navigation chrome, while the membership and eligibility language that explains ID, address, and funding sits one page earlier.
The routing number is served as a single plain sentence on a dedicated FAQ page, no script or PDF required.

Strengths and opportunities
What is working
- The Account and Service Fee Schedule PDF is genuinely complete and specific, with named dollar figures for every fee from stop payments to international wires to overdraft, reachable in two hops from the savings page.
- The routing number is delivered as a single plain sentence on a dedicated, easy-to-find FAQ page, no script rendering or PDF parsing required.
- The checking and savings product pages write out account-opening requirements (full name, address, date of birth, minimum deposit, membership check) in plain visible text, even though that same disclosure does not carry over onto the dedicated Apply Now application page.
Opportunities
- Publishing the current APY numbers as static text on the savings and checking rate pages, alongside the existing rate-tier table structure, would let an agent answer the single most common deposit question without waiting on a client-side call.
- Adding a short visible eligibility and requirements summary directly on the Apply Now interstitial, matching the language already written on the product pages one click earlier, would turn the application page from an empty shell into a page an agent can actually read and report back.
- Publishing a real llms.txt file, even a short one pointing to the rate pages, the fee schedule PDF, and the routing number page, would give agents a documented entry point instead of a 404.
Access
Every page the agent requested was delivered on the first attempt. Publishing an llms.txt file would give agent traffic a documented entry point.
