Mortgage, card and term savings pricing all arrive as readable numbers, with schema.org markup on the card. Opening thirteen provincial paths in the robots file reaches the rest.
Desjardins posts an Agent Readiness Score of 61 out of 100 in the AI Compass Canada July 2026 Index. The score splits into Technical Readiness at 31/50 and Content Architecture at 30/50. Mortgages, credit cards and term savings publish real rates, and the card page ships structured data. Narrowing the robots wildcard block, publishing a personal loan rate range and adding parsable comparison tables are the three moves that follow.
The site served French by default to a request with no language preference, returning 200 with no redirect and no language gate. English lives in parallel and also returns 200 directly. Both are open, which puts Desjardins ahead of any site that asks for a language choice before content.
Three surfaces answer well. The mortgage page carries “4,39 %” and “4,49 %” for closed fixed four and five year terms and “4,10 %” for the closed five year variable, all present before any province is chosen. The Flexi Visa ships a FinancialProduct schema block reading “interestRate”: “10.9%” alongside body text at 10,9 % and 12,9 %. Term savings publish a full nine-rate ladder.
FAQ content is served as text with FAQPage markup on the mortgage, insurance and chequing pages, including a worked deductible example. That is a stronger question layer than most of the Canadian field carries.
Three items hold the remaining points. The robots wildcard block covers every province code, so a fetch of the Quebec mortgage path was declined and the content is ready to open. Comparison tables are the open structural item across the product pages, and the term savings matrix already sits in a JSON blob ready to render as HTML. The personal loan page serves “Taux basé sur le montant, le terme du prêt consenti et vos habitudes de crédit” and is ready for a stated rate range.
One flagship product was selected for each sub-category Desjardins features on its root. The site served French by default and was read in that form, so the sub-category and product names appear as published. Each surface was read from the server response, without a browser session.
Mortgage rates arrive as readable numbers with no gate. The served HTML carries “4,39 %” and “4,49 %” for closed fixed four and five year terms and “4,10 %” for the closed five year variable, all before any province is chosen.
Credit card pricing ships as schema.org structured data. The Flexi Visa page contains a FinancialProduct block reading “interestRate”: “10.9%”, “price”: “0”, “priceCurrency”: “CAD” and “eligibleRegion”: Canada, with body text at 10,9 % and 12,9 %.
Term savings publish a full rate ladder in text. The page holds “1,00 %”, “1,70 %”, “2,70 %”, “3,10 %” and “3,35 %”, with eligibility spelled out by registered plan type.
FAQs are served as text with FAQPage markup on most surfaces. The mortgage, insurance and chequing pages each carry a FAQPage block, and insurance explains a deductible with a worked example.
Thirteen province paths are ready to open. The robots wildcard block carries “Disallow: /qc/”, “Disallow: /on/”, “Disallow: /ab/” and every other province code, so narrowing the block reaches content that is already public in the browser.
The personal loan page is ready for a rate range. It serves “Taux basé sur le montant, le terme du prêt consenti et vos habitudes de crédit”, and a stated from and to annual rate turns that into a citable answer.
Comparison tables are the open structural item. A count of table elements returned zero across the mortgage, term savings, card, chequing, insurance and wealth pages, and the term savings matrix already sits in a JSON blob keyed by period, ready to render as HTML.
Nine footnote tokens are ready to resolve. The Flexi Visa page contains nine instances of “${fnote” and the chequing page renders “15,95 $${fnote:/content/d”, so resolving them carries the condition with the headline fee.
The encouraging read: structured data on the card page shows the standard is understood inside the organization, and the same treatment transfers to the rest of the estate.
An agent asked what a Desjardins personal loan costs reads a sentence explaining that the rate depends, and the page is ready to carry the range.
Desjardins sits in the middle of the Canadian field and above every credit union measured in the published US index. Two changes move it into the upper group. Scores shown are the nearest neighbours in the July 2026 Canadian field.
Every Agent Readiness Score splits into Technical Readiness and Content Architecture. The two halves point to different teams and different timelines.
Sequencing, effort estimates and the surface-by-surface build order sit in the full engagement plan. Item one carries the largest share of the available lift.
A stated from and to annual rate in text, even as a band with qualifying conditions, turns the lowest scoring lending surface into a citable one.
Removing the thirteen province disallows and the wealth management rule opens content that is already public in the browser.
Index the seven product hubs and the top thirty product pages with one real sentence each, and replace the current 55KB HTML error page with plain text.
A single HTML table of cards by annual fee and purchase rate, and another of term savings by term and rate, gives agents something to read across products. Resolve the nine footnote tokens at the same time.
The direction of travel favours Desjardins. Structured data on the card page shows the standard is understood inside the organization.
Desjardins publishes real prices on the products that matter most. Opening the province paths lets agents reach the rest.
AI Compass measures what an AI agent receives when it visits a financial institution website on a customer’s behalf. It reads the served response the way an agent does, without a browser session, without scripts, and without a human clicking to reveal a value.
Each product surface earns a score out of 100, built from Technical Readiness out of 50 and Content Architecture out of 50. The institution score is the average across the surfaces reviewed, up to seven.
Sub-categories come from the personal banking navigation on each brand’s Canadian root. Within each one, the flagship is the product the institution itself features first. Brands with fewer product lines are scored on the surfaces they actually sell, so a focused brand is measured on quality rather than on breadth.
Pages were read on 30 July 2026. Rates, bonus offers and terms move, and scores describe what each site served on that date. Where a site offers more than one language, the version served by default to a request with no language preference was used.
Scores come from observed page behaviour alone. No institution reviews or approves a score before publication, and every brand is measured against the same rubric. Outlier results are verified against a second independent retrieval pass before publication.
The score covers the public marketing site. Logged-in banking, the mobile app and the branch experience sit outside it. A site can score well here and still have work to do inside the login, and the reverse holds too.
Desjardins carries an AI Compass Agent Readiness Score of 61 out of 100 in the July 2026 Canada Index. That is the sum of Technical Readiness (31/50) and Content Architecture (30/50), scored across 7 product surfaces and read from the server response on 30 July 2026.
Each product surface earns a score out of 100, built from Technical Readiness out of 50 and Content Architecture out of 50. Technical Readiness covers crawler permission, machine-readable discovery, server-side completeness, retrievability and disclosure availability. Content Architecture covers price in text, eligibility in text, comparison structure, question coverage and plain answers. The institution score is the average across the surfaces reviewed. Desjardins sits at 31 on Technical Readiness and 30 on Content Architecture.
The strongest surface is Hypotheque at 71, with Epargne et placements at 70 close behind. The next points sit on the province paths in robots.txt, a published personal loan rate range and one parsable comparison table per sub-category.
