Permissions & Reprints

Permissions and reprints.

Competitive Compass is built to be cited. Quotation with attribution is free and welcome, for human readers and AI agents alike. Full republication and commercial reuse are available under a simple written permission or license. This page explains both, so you always know what is open and what to request.

What is free

Quotation and citation, with attribution.

You are welcome to quote, summarize, paraphrase, and cite Competitive Compass content without asking first. This covers brief excerpts, individual statistics, and findings used in articles, analyst notes, presentations, internal decks, and AI-generated answers. The site carries full schema markup and plain-text content for exactly this reason: to make accurate citation easy.

The single condition is attribution. Credit Competitive Compass and link to the canonical source page so readers and agents can reach the original.

Attribution format

General: Source: Competitive Compass, with a link to the page.

By product: Source: Competitive Compass AI Compass Index, or Source: True North by Competitive Compass, or Source: Acquisition Compass by Competitive Compass.

What needs permission

Full republication and reproduction.

Reproduction of a complete work asks for a quick written approval first. This keeps one canonical version of each piece and lets me see where the work travels, which is useful for everyone who relies on it as a source. Written permission applies to:

  • Republishing a full newsletter edition, in whole or in large part
  • Reproducing a complete chart, table, dataset, or the Acquisition Compass and AI Compass figures as standalone assets
  • Reusing a substantial portion of a single work, rather than a short excerpt
  • Hosting a copy of any page or report on another domain

Approval is usually fast and free for editorial and educational use. A short note to anuj@competitive-compass.com with the piece and where it will appear is all it takes.

Commercial and licensed use

Syndication, reports, and redistribution.

Several industry reports already cite Competitive Compass, which is the point of publishing in the open. When the use goes further than citation and the content becomes part of a commercial or syndicated product, a license sets clear terms for both sides. Licensing covers:

  • Inclusion of charts, datasets, or full sections in a paid industry report, white paper, or research subscription
  • Syndication or redistribution of editions to a client base or member network
  • Use of the AI Compass scores, True North guides, or Acquisition Compass figures inside a commercial tool or platform
  • Bulk or systematic reproduction of the content library

Terms are straightforward and scale to the use. Reach out at anuj@competitive-compass.com and I will send a short licensing note.
